ARTC East Africa is the Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, domiciled branch of
ARTC Group Inc., USA.
ARTC East Africa’s main activities are centered on sourcing
exotic hardwood products in East Africa as well as production of
Teak Lumber. ARTC East Africa also imports various wood products to
the East African market, primarily Tanzania. The main species
imported are Swedish softwood lumber and efforts are made to add to
the product mix through ARTC Group’s extensive worldwide network of
suppliers and trading partners.
East Africa
is a region in east central Africa, usually taken to comprise
Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda. ARTC East
Africa is active in the whole region but our emphasis is on Kenya
and Tanzania.
Kenya, a
republic in East Africa, and a member of the Commonwealth of
Nations. Kenya has a varied landscape of plateaus and high mountains
and is home to many different ethnic groups. Formerly a British
colony, Kenya gained independence in 1963 and has been a republic
since 1964. It is bounded on the north by Sudan and Ethiopia, on the
east by Somalia and the Indian Ocean, on the south by Tanzania, and
on the west by Lake Victoria and Uganda. Nairobi is the country’s
capital and largest city.

Tanzania was formed by the federation of the nations of Tanganyika
and Zanzibar in 1964. The country’s name is a combination of the
first syllables of the component territories’ names.
Tanzania is bounded on the north by Kenya and Uganda; on the east by
the Indian Ocean; on the south by Mozambique, Malawi, and Zambia;
and on the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC),
Burundi, and Rwanda. The country includes the islands of Zanzibar
and Pemba, and other offshore islands in the Indian Ocean. The total
area of Tanzania is 945,100 sq km (364,900 sq mi). Dar es Salaam is
the largest city and former capital; the smaller city of Dodoma is
now the official capital of the country. ARTC East Africa's
principal office in the region is in Dar es Salaam.
